Jonathon Eder devoted 24 years to working at The Mary Baker Eddy Library in Boston, Massachusetts. He retired in late 2025 as Manager of Programs and Scholarly Engagement where he created the Library’s Seekers and Scholars podcast. Eder has contributed articles related to Christian Science church history to various academic journals and book volumes and has presented papers at a range of professional conferences. This has included research into the history of The Christian Science Monitor news organization, founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1908. For the Arts, Literature, and Religion Unit at the 2025 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Religion, he spoke on Monitor art critic Dorothy Adlow and her relationship with the Boston Expressionists.
