born Ernst Richard Gerd Kaden, was a German painter and sculptor. Caden had been an agent for various intelligence services since the 1920s. He worked undercover for the Anti-Military Apparatus of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD), the Ministry for State Security (MfS) of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), and the Soviet secret service, the KGB. In 1949–50, he was a member of the Provisional People’s Chamber of the GDR.
