Dr. Lukas Böckmann is a historian specializing in the history of ideas and intellectual history, as well as Latin American and Jewish history. He is currently preparing a research project on the historical semantics of the term ‘Global South’ at the Chair of Historical Dictatorship Studies at Humboldt University of Berlin. In 2023, he completed his doctorate at the Leibniz Institute for Jewish History and Culture – Simon Dubnow with a dissertation on the religious undercurrents of the Latin American guerrilla movement. The work will be published in summer 2026 under the title „Ein Paradies auf Erden. Politische Theologie und die lateinamerikanische Guerilla der 1960er Jahre“ by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht.
