American film production company, founded in 1915 by William Fox, created from the merger of the film distributor Greater New York Film Rental with the production company Fox Office Attractions Company, both companies belonged to William Fox and had been founded just two years earlier, company headquarters moved to Los Angeles, Calif. in 1915, merged into 20th Century Fox in 1935.
