The “Amsterdam Jewish Council” (Dutch: Joodsche Raad voor Amsterdam) was an institution established by the German occupying forces in the Netherlands during World War II, operating in Amsterdam from February 1941 to September 1943. Throughout its existence, the Amsterdam Jewish Council was jointly led by Abraham Asscher and David Cohen. By necessity, the Jewish Council served as a partner and central point of contact for the Central Office for Jewish Emigration in Amsterdam.
