German author, art writer and resistance fighter. In 1924, member of a German-Jewish youth group with social revolutionary ideas, the “ Schwarze Haufen”; imprisoned in 1933; emigrated to Mandate Palestine in 1935, spent time in Egypt between 1936 and 1941, returned to West Germany in 1951.
