The Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion (mainly known as Hebrew Union College or HUC) is an institution of higher Jewish education and the academic, spiritual, and professional leadership development center of Reform Judaism. Iwas founded in Cincinnati in 1875 and is the oldest rabbinical seminary in the United States. In 1950, it merged with the Jewish Institute of Religion in New York to form the Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion in New York
